Welcome To The Mr Beams Blog

I got a text from a friend of mine this morning on the east coast. It has rained heavily for days. It seems like it has been raining on the east coast since Hurricane Irene. He wrote that he was going to start working on an Ark this weekend. My first thought was what a great application for Mr Beams battery powered LED lights!

Chances are he won't install any windows because that would be a place where water could get in. It will be dark in the rooms below the deck. I am guessing he won't have a generator or anything sophisticated for power so easily installed bright battery powered LED lights with motion sensors or remote control would be perfect. He could use rechargeable batteries. At some point the sun will come out and if he had some type of solar charger to recharge the batteries after several months that would work. The lights may work well for a year or more depending on how much they are used. He probably could stock up on alkaline batteries too - they last a long time in the Mr Beams lights.

Or maybe the rain will just stop. That would be good too.
